About me

I am Parsa Farjam, a computer science student at Paris-Saclay with an interest in cybersecurity. I have made dozens of projects to sharpen my skills and build a portfolio. Other than coding and cybersecurity, I also do photography as a hobby, as well as creative writing.

Cybersecurity and coding

My journey in computer science started when I was 12. Interested by tech-related TV shows such as BBC's Click, I started learning how to code online with the help of free resources. As time went on, I became more and more invested in coding and by the end of high school, I knew that I was ready to choose computer science as my career.

As time went on, I got curious about cybersecurity after watching documentaries on the subject and through social media exposure. The more I learned, the more intrigued I became. I started doing CTFs, first on picoCTF (now CyLab Academy) and then on TryHackMe to sharpen my skills in the field.

I love learning using hands-on experience. You can find my coding and cybersecurity-related projects here. I have also partaken in a few hackathons, which you can see on my resume, alongside my LeetCode and CTF stats.

Photography

My interest for photography started appearing in 2017, originally being inspired by aesthetic photos I saw on Instagram. Not having a professional camera, I used my phone to take photos. As time went on, my work was noticed by my middle school in Iran, hence why I was chosen to be part of the media and photography team for the 2018 National Genetics Workshop hosted by our school. My photos have gained more than 4.3 million views on Unsplash and were featured in the UN Act for Nature collection and multiple Unsplash topics, as well as also being featured twice in my high school's talent show (2023, 2024).

Creative writing

Creative writing allows me to calm down, gather my thoughts and reflect on my viewpoints, all the while improving my communication and debating skills. I especially started appreciating creative writing after taking it as a course in my second year of studies at Paris-Saclay. I write short stories, essays and commentary pieces, that you can discover here.

About this website

The current version of this website was made in the summer of 2026. While the old version of this website that I deployed in high school was perfectly functional, I wanted a portfolio that better represents my current capabilities and design language. Also, as my first project with Tailwind CSS, this website helped me familiarize myself with Tailwind. The code for this website is fully open source and you can check it out here.

The layout and creative choices (colors, fonts, animations) were all done by myself with no AI intervention, and every single bit of text on this website was also written by me without the use of any AI tools. The vast majority of the code was also fully hand written using my own skills, documentation from Tailwind CSS and Mozilla Developer Network (MDN) and online forum posts, with AI only being used for debugging where I had tried and failed to find the bug by myself. No CLI-based AI tools (such as Claude Code or Codex) were used in the developement of this website, and all AI-suggeseted changes were manually reviewed before being hand-implemented.
